Are there any online colleges that offer financial aid without having to attend campus half time? I applied for financial aid for online learning (aka distance learning) through LSU. They told me that I can't get financial aid unless I attend campus at least half time (which is not an option for me).

Hi! This is a tough one. I would like to urge you to refrain from applying and attending a for profit college like University of Phoenix, Bryman or Capella.
The main problem with finding a reputable school is this: your ability to take online courses is based SOLELY on each individual institutions offerings for online courses. You might want to try a community college first? Many community colleges will have plenty of online courses for general education. When you are ready to transfer, those counselors will assist you in picking a distance learning school.
Please also keep in mind that most legit schools will need you to attend class ATLEAST the first day.
What state are you? What's your major?

It is a mandatory regulation to attend school at least half time to qualify. On campus classes were difficult to attend even halftime for me. I am now obtaining my bachelors degree online from ashford university. They require halftime, but their halftime only requires you to login to the classroom twice a week.

Yes.
You can qualify for financial aid for online learning as long as you are considered at least a half-time student. The fact of whether you are attending part online and part on campus is not relative to receiving financial aide, it is the college requirement.
Check out online colleges that do not require actual campus attendance. IThere are many colleges that do not require phyical on-campus attendance. Example, South University, University of Phoenix, Capella, Strayer, etc.
Do not confuse being a half-time student (which is a must for financial aide) with phyically attending the school campus, which is not requried for financial aide.

I had looked into online education courses at the University of Phoenix and Western Governor's University. Both colleges offered financial aid. I would have had to enroll in my courses and then apply. As long as you take more than the minimum requirements for a half time student, it should not matter whether you attend the school in person or not.
Each school may have different requirements so you should check with individual schools. However, financial aid is definitely available for individuals who are attending college online.

That is strange that this is the college requirement, that you must PHYSICALLY attend the university at least half time to qualify for the Pell grant. I have attended part-time and full time at two other state institutions completely online for that particular semester and received all the funding I needed.
I have since switched to a completely online university:Florida Tech Online (the online university of the campus based Florida Institute of Technology). While getting all the financial aid docs in order and following up was a pain, I am getting all the financial aid needed and I attend completely online, and will be able to for my entire degree.
Aforementioned was Ashford University, and unless you know without a shadow of a doubt that you will finish with them, chances are your classes will not transfer out to a traditional state school.
