Answer 1/1 - Submitted 2/3/2011
There are more than 4,500 online degrees being offered by more than 250 colleges and universities online. It's possible to obtain an online degree in many fields, ranging from online IT degrees, online nursing degrees, to online bachelor degree programs, or master's degrees.
The first step in getting any degree is deciding what your career or educational goal is. Consider what fields you have an interest in, what you might enjoy doing, and where you'd like to end up working. Obviously some degrees will result in higher income, and will take more study and longer time to obtain.
It's a good idea to consider your budget, and whether you'll be doing your online education part time or full time. Some college and university programs have classes you need to attend in order to complete a degree, so check that.
The online programs you choose should be an accredited school, and it's best to have a degree from a school that's recognized and credible in the field. This will help when you go looking for work.
When you've selected a degree program and online college or school, check into student grants of financial aid to help. If you're already employed, you might see whether your job would help you get your degree.
Then, prepare and file your application, and get started.
